David Shaw

David brings over 27 years of experience in compliance, auditing, physician education, coding and reimbursement, and accounts receivable/collections. His background also includes multi-specialty workflow analysis, charge capture, practice coding, and documentation reviews. David has provided project management and guidance on various coding engagements (analysis, supplemental coding, auditing, HER implementation/improvements, policy and procedure, compliance plans). 

David has developed and evaluated coding compliance, specific regulatory, billing, coding and documentation training for multiple specialties. Additionally, he has experience as a business services operations manager where he oversaw more than 70 full time employees and facilitated daily operations of coding, billing, insurance, patient accounts, and revenue. He has presented at several symposiums, conferences, colleges for coding and revenue.

David earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA and his Associate of Science in Mathematics from Riverside Community College in Riverside, CA. He is also CPC certified from the American Academy of Procedural Codes (AAPC) and is an AHIMA certified ICD-10-CM trainer.
