Overview Sheila brings more than 30 years of experience to Pinnacle as Chief Compliance Officer and Executive Consultant where she leverages her impressive background and vast knowledge as a Certified Internal Auditor by the Institute of Internal Auditors, her certification in Healthcare Compliance by the Health Care Compliance Association, and her Big Four public accounting firm expertise.
Throughout her career, Sheila has interacted with federal and state regulators and has an excellent record of achievement leading healthcare audit and compliance teams while working closely with executive leadership and the board of directors. She has a proven record and a demonstrated commitment to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, education/training, customer service, and process integrity.
Prior to Pinnacle, Sheila spent twenty-four years in internal auditing and more than eleven years in healthcare compliance and privacy with a healthcare system. This includes building and implementing a comprehensive Corporate Compliance Program which functions as an independent and objective body that reviews and evaluates compliance and privacy issues and concerns throughout the organization.
Having held many important roles over her career, Sheila has served as Corporate Director of Internal Audit and Compliance, Privacy Officer and Institutional Research Specialist, Audit Director, Audit Manager, and Senior Auditor. She is also an accomplished author having produced multiple publications and articles that focus on the development and implementation of effective auditing and compliance practices.
Sheila is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Health Care Compliance Association and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL.
