Kristina brings nearly 15 years of experience in revenue cycle, health information management, and risk adjustment.   Her expertise extends to several outpatient specialties including emergency medicine, urgent care, pediatrics, family practice, cardiology, and orthopedics. Kristina’s current role focuses on one of PERCS’ newest offerings - hierarchical condition categorical (“HCC”) coding audits and provider education. Her industry experience provides valuable insight to assist PERCS in the growth of this service line.

Early in her career, Kristina held positions in billing, coding, auditing, quality assurance, and provider education including senior medical coder, senior auditor, quality assurance lead, and coding supervisor. She eventually progressed to a coding director position focusing on emergency medicine and urgent care. In 2017, Kristina had an opportunity to pursue risk adjustment and HCC coding. Her broad background provided a unique skillset enabling her to identify potential problem areas related to clinical documentation and diagnosis coding. Utilizing this experience, she excels at working alongside client staff, assessing educational needs, and providing training to help develop and reach determined goals for documentation improvement.

Kristina earned an Associate of Science degree from Everest University in Medical Insurance Billing and Coding. She is also a Certified Professional Coder (“CPC”) through the American Academy of Professional Coders.  Her career has provided her with extensive, firsthand knowledge of numerous EMR systems and encoder software.
