John has over 17 years of analytics and consulting experience in healthcare, with the most recent 8 years engaged in managing the Orthopedic, Spine and Biologic contracts for a large integrated delivery network (IDN). Over the course of the current engagement, the client has benefited from over $20 million in realized savings as a result of the successful implementation and management of those contracts. Aside from direct contract management, John has also developed and currently manages a series of reporting tools which focus on identifying business opportunities related to current physician preference items, as well as identifying additional non-labor cost savings opportunities.
Prior to Pinnacle, John was a consultant for a national healthcare improvement firm where he developed custom methodologies that were then applied to a series of software tools to quickly and much more accurately assess cost reduction opportunities for clients. Rounding out John’s 17 years in healthcare, he also spent 8 years as a consultant with a national healthcare consulting firm where he was involved with service line strategy development focusing specifically on neuroscience, orthopedics, spine, oncology and correctional healthcare.
