Sarah is a seasoned healthcare compliance and documentation expert with more than 20 years of experience in professional coding, auditing and risk adjustment. She provides multi-specialty provider and coder audits, evaluating medical record documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with professional fee coding standards including E/M, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and modifier usage. She is recognized for her ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance that supports both compliance and operational excellence.

Throughout her career, Sarah has developed extensive expertise in CMS regulations, OIG compliance standards, ICD-10 coding guidelines, HCC methodologies, and incident-to and residency documentation requirements. She has served as a subject matter expert for physicians, non-physician practitioners, and administrative leadership, helping organizations reconcile clinical documentation with regulatory standards while improving accuracy, integrity, and overall coding quality. In addition, she has contributed to ICD-10 implementation initiatives, supported EMR system transitions, and consistently achieved high standards of accuracy and productivity across multiple healthcare organizations.

Sarah holds an Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Management and Technology. She is credentialed as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), and Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA). She maintains active involvement with AHIMA and AAPC and has previously served as President and Vice President of her local AAPC chapter.
