His practice primarily consists of developing FMV determination for all aspects of provider payment arrangements, including employment, large-scale professional services agreements, call coverage, administrative services, co-management, management services, and telehealth arrangements. His diverse healthcare clients include integrated health systems, academic medical centers, rural hospitals, and national telemedicine providers. In addition to traditional FMV analyses, Clay also supports clients with provider compensation plan development, comprehensive compensation plan audits, strategic compensation/pricing, and third-party payer rate comparisons.

Prior to joining Pinnacle, Clay’s healthcare and legal experience began at St. Louis University (SLU) School of Law where he served as a legal intern in the general counsel’s office of a medical center. Upon graduation from SLU Law with a JD and Healthcare Law Certificate, Clay practiced as attorney at Bryan Cave LLP (now Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner) for several years.
